What hay costs in Illinois
BaleWise tracks 52 hay listings in Illinois, 45 with listed prices, checked October 21, 2026. Every price is the seller’s own, per bale, next to the size of bale it buys. Nothing is converted, estimated, or averaged into a number the seller never quoted.
Large squares run $30.00 to $95.00 a bale across prices from 6 sellers, with a midpoint of $75.00.
Verdicts on the board above compare a listing against other Midwest listings of the same bale size, at least 6 of them, or we don’t rate it at all. It is the same yardstick the region board uses, so a listing carries the same verdict on either page.
This board shows Illinois only. Buying near a state line? The full Midwest board includes sellers just over it.
